MOT vs Service

When do you need an MOT?

For every car that is three years old, it needs an annual MOT test to comply with the law in the UK.  An MOT is a visual inspection to see if your car meets the minimum safety requirements set by the DVSA. The tester will check the condition and tread of your tyres if your lights work and many other elements.  Driving without an MOT certificate is against the law, and can result in a fine and points on your licence.  Book an MOT!

When do you need a Service? 

It is recommended that you get your car serviced at regular intervals to maintain the condition of your vehicle. It gives you a more in-depth mechanical assessment, as well as making your car run smoothly. It will prolong the lifespan, and add more value when you sell. It isn’t a legal requirement, however, it is recommended by vehicle manufacturers.  Book a Service!
