UK Government has given a six-month MOT exemption
The Government has stated that drivers of cars, vans or motorcycles whose MOT expires on or after 30th March 2020, will automatically receive a six-more extension. This includes brand-new vehicles. However, motorists that benefit from this extension must ensure that their care is in a safe and roadworthy condition. Lorries, buses and trailers are to receive a separate three-month extension, which are exempt from needing an MOT from 21st March 2020. Drivers are advised that they may need to apply for this exemption in order to receive it on their vehicle.Stay At Home
Despite the MOT exemption, the advice still remains to stay at home and limit travel. Travel in a vehicle should only be to travel for essential shopping trips, medical necessity, or to travel to work if a key worker or if you cannot work from home. You must only drive if you absolutely need to.
