Now that the temperatures are finally rising and there is more sun around it’s finally the perfect time to care for your car. Here are some simple tips to get your car ready for the spring.

1.Check your tyres 

It’s important to take care of your tyres. They are the first point of contact between you and the road. It is important to check the pressure of all your tyres and check the tread including, uneven or irregular wear and replace if necessary.  Get a tyre quote. 

2.Check your lighting 

Check all lighting, both interior and exterior. If any lighting is defective it is important to get this fixed as soon as possible as it could be dangerous.

3.Check your filters 

Vehicles have many filters within it. It is important to get them replaced regularly. It’s important to check them for any damage or clogging and replace them if they need to be.

4.Check wiper blades 

If there are any tears or cracks in your wipers, then it is probably a sign that they need replacing. Other signs may be streaking, screeching sounds or the wiper blades bouncing as they operate.

5.Check fluids

There are many fluids within a vehicle. Such as oil, power steering, brake and transmission fluid. As well as windscreen wash fluid and coolant. If any of the levels are low then top them up or flush/replace them as recommended in the owner’s manual.

6.Check your alignment 

Hitting a curb, driving over speed bumps or a pothole in the road may be forgotten. This can consequently cause alignment problems. With correct wheel alignment, it will help your tyres last longer. Book in your wheel alignment. 

7.Wash your vehicle 

Salt can start to build up on your car due to grit on the roads. There’s also much more dirt and debris on the roads over the winter months. It’s best to give your vehicle a good clean and care for it as salt builds up and can lead to rusting.
