Now that the temperatures are finally rising and there is more sun around it’s finally the perfect time to care for your car. Here are 5 simple tips to get your car ready for the spring.
Clean, Including the Inside
It’s best to give your car a good clean once the winter is over. Salt can start to build your car due to grit on the roads. There’s also much more dirt and debris on the roads over the winter months. It’s best to give your vehicle a good clean and care for it as salt build up and lead to rust. Spring is also the perfect time to clean the inside too. It’s good weather to get the vacuum out and get rid of all the dirt and make the inside as clean as the outside.
Check Your Wipers
Wipers tend to get most damaged over the winter months. Ice tends to build up on the windshield and most the time we remove this using are wipers and heater. This can cause cracks and wear to the wipers. This will stop them working correctly after the winter months.
Look Under the Hood
The winter time can put some pressure on your car so it’s good to check a few things under the bonnet. This will make sure your car will be performing it’s best for the rest of the year. Check your belts and hoses as they may have become heavily worn or brittle. Make sure your coolant isn’t too old either. Some people are comfortable with checking these themselves. However, here at Express Fit well will be happy the check them for you.
Tyre Pressure
In the winter as it is cooler tyre pressure tends to decrease. During the spring/summer, the tyre pressure can then increase. If your tyre pressure increases the manufacturer specification it can cause the tyres to wear faster. It can also increase fuel economy. Here at Express Fit Auto Centres Free Tyre Health Check where we will be able to check the pressure for you.
